HOW THE MOON MOVES
DARK MOON
The moon is completely hidden and the sky is dark. Imagine this as the deep, dark earth where we sew the seeds of our dreams. A great time to turn inwards and listen. During the Dark Moon the sun and moon are in the same astrological sign.
WAXING CRESCENT
Sometimes also called the New Moon. Continue to cultivate and nurture your intentions.
FIRST QUARTER
At this point half way to the Full Moon there might be challenges and obstacles on the path, stay steady.
WAXING GIBBOUS MOON
The moon is now nearly full, like being full of expectations and nearly ready to birth into the world.
FULL MOON
Under the Full Moon we can see what is heightened and illuminated. It also gives power, charge and strength for activation. This is a good time for forgiveness practices. The Full Moon will be in the opposite astrological sign to the sun.
WANING GIBBOUS MOON
If you want to let go of or release something in your life this is a good time to begin.
LAST QUARTER MOON
This is the harvest time, reaping the fruits. You might find more focused action and concentration.
BALSAMIC / WANING CRESCENT
The last phase moving into the depth and the darkness, the most mystical time and liminal space. Time to turn inwards, to move from ‘doing’ towards ‘being’.
And so the cycle begins again....
THE MOON AND YOU
The moon moves through the whole of the zodiac in roughly one month, staying in each sign 2-3 days. The Dark Moon will be in the same astrological sign as the sun and the Full Moon will be in the opposite sign to the sun.
